We absolutely love this part of the world. There is so much to do and to see. The scenery is breath-taking, the wildlife unique and the outdoor activities almost unlimited. There is walking, mountain biking, skiing, golf, fantastic salmon and trout fishing, malt whisky, bird-watching and kayaking to name but a few! In short there is something for everyone!
We are a family business and take great pleasure in providing two top quality houses for self catering holidays in Speyside.
Both Shalimar and Aspen Lodge are traditional Victorian houses which we have refurbished to a very high standard to bring them up to date and to make them ideal holiday homes.
Both houses are easily reached by public transport. Inverness Airport is just 35 miles away and the nearest mainline train station is Aviemore, just 12 miles away.
We pay great attention to detail to make sure that you will have a wonderful holiday in the beautiful Scottish Highlands.
Shalimar, Grantown on Spey
Shalimar, Grantown on SpeyShalimar is a superb holiday house in an idyllic location next to Anagach Woods yet only a short walk to Grantown's shops, pubs and restaurants. From the end of the drive, you are also just a short walk or cycle through the woods to the River Spey.
From the outside, Shalimar is a fabulous, traditional Victorian house in a wonderful setting. From the inside, we have extensively refurbished it for real comfort and modern day living while retaining its original features and character.
Shalimar has been furnished to a very high standard and can accommodate 8 guests more than comfortably. It is ideal for families; children and dogs are welcome; WiFi is available; welcome pack, heating, bed linen & towels are included; cot and high chair are provided; Shalimar is available to let all year round and is warm and comfortable even in extreme Grantown winters!

Aspen Lodge, Nethy Bridge
Aspen Lodge, NethybridgeAspen Lodge is a lovely, traditional detached house very conveniently situated in the heart of Nethy Bridge, close to the village shops and public transport. It also lies right on the Speyside Way and there are super walks and bike rides straight from the house. The playing fields, tennis courts and children's play park are directly opposite the cottage. Aspen Lodge is accessible all year round, even in the snow, making it an ideal base for a winter skiing short break.
Aspen Lodge was formerly the Old Police Station and is full of character (the downstairs bathroom used to be the police cell and still has the original door, although it has been decommissioned for safety reasons!!).
Aspen Lodge is spacious, warm and welcoming with high ceilings and lots of natural light. Our aim is to make sure that your stay is really relaxed and comfortable.
We are now into our third year of letting Aspen Lodge as a holiday cottage and the feedback and number of returning guests confirm that our guests love it as much as we do!

The Cairngorms National Park contains some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. There is an abundance of wildlife ranging from ospreys to red squirrels. Cairngorm itself boasts some of the most stunning views of the region and is accessed by the funicular railway. In the winter the mountain becomes home to skiing and wintersports.
Speyside is also home to some of the best Malt Whisky distilleries in the world, has many lovely golf courses and superb salmon fishing.
Grantown on Spey
Grantown on Spey is the capital of Strathspey and has long been a popular holiday destination and was especially favoured by Queen Victoria. The town remains unspoiled, has many amenities and is superbly situated to explore all that is available in the Cairngorms National Park and the Highlands.
Nethy Bridge
Nethy Bridge is a quiet, friendly Speyside village set in Abernethy Forest - a perfect retreat and a fantastic base for a holiday in the Scottish Highlands.
Nethy Bridge lies in the Spey valley (Strathspey) between Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey and provides easy access to the many attractions of the Cairngorms National Park and the Scottish Highlands.
