Loch Garten

Loch Garten is a highlight of any trip to Speyside. The loch is beautiful and ever-changing through the year with marvellous views across the loch to the Cairngorms. There are fantastic walks through the forest and the famous RSPB osprey hide is just around the corner.

The River Spey is one of the best known rivers in Scotland. The fresh water is home to some of the best salmon and trout fishing to be found anywhere. The scenery is beautiful and keen walkers will enjoy the Speyside Way.

River Spey

The River Spey is also used by the malt whisky industry and there are numerous of distilleries in Speyside with visitor centres where you can tour the distillery and sample a dram. A personal favourite is Cardhu, home of Johnnie Walker!

Strathspey steam railway

The Strathspey steam railway which runs from Aviemore to Broomhill is a trip down memory lane! It is a trip which young and old will enjoy, especially if you take advantage of the dining car and there are few more scenic train journeys to be found.

Nethybridge is a lovely village, nestling on the edges of Abernethy Forest in the shadow of the Cairngorms. This view looks over Broomhill station, which featured as Glenbogle in the TV series 'Monarch of the Glen'.
